But that still kind of wrong, somthing might get cut for time but still mbe canon, so to say that simply being cut make it not canon anymore would themn be wrong.
 
Now if that bit was cut early on then saying that makes sense, but if it had made it all the way into the movie only to get cut out of the final cut for time then it would still very likely be canon.
