To be honest, I think “Diwata Aino” sounds Indonesian, as “Diwata” is similar to the tern “Dewata”, which is related to “Dewa” (from “Deva”, a Sanskrit word for “God”).
@Puto-Chef
I’m like super rusty in Japanese since it’s been years since I took in high school, but if I remember right the character in the “Ti” spot is actually closer to sounding like “Chi” which probably affects the “Di” to sound more like “Ji”.
If a foreign word needs a “Ti” sound I think they put a small “i” (or “ee” as in “see”) sound character around the lower right corner of the character for “Te”. Also it would be in katakana instead of hiragana.
If I remember correctly…
Anyways, I’m not sure of the overall usability of the proposed name for the character.
@OneOverTwo
Diwata Aino. Because remind Megumi Aino of Happiness Charge Precure.
Diwata- A Fairy, Nymph or Deity of the Philippines. While Megumi means Graces I used this instead since Megumi and Megami(Goddess) are pretty similar in sound. Also I don’t know any Filipino words that I can use that’s not Spanish.
Aino- Of Love.
“Aino”, however, makes me think of the Kalevala character of the same name who drowned herself rather than marry Vainamoinen, or “Aule” the Blacksmith.
I like it too.
Not bad, but I feel like it could be improved.

Ruber and ruby crayola are pretty close to her hair at least.
@Background is Best Pony
She’s not really all that red…
Something like Ruby Red would be more in keeping with our usual naming scheme though.
She only have a few pics so I guess it’ll be okay but I probably keep using this name for my art.

Well I did just use a Free generator.
Also, wouldn’t the hirigana in the image be pronounced more like “jiwata”?
I kind of feel like that name doesn’t really fit in with the names of all the other characters then though.
Generally the names are either in English or something that would roll off the tongue in a fantasy sort of way.
I think you might have trouble explaining “Diwata Aino” is the gist of what I’m trying to say. Especially for this minor of a character.
Maybe even just “Aino” might sound less confusing? I don’t really know.

The name is in the tag. The first name is distinctly Filipino, as the uploader is Filipino like me.
