Background Pony #7C7A
Tags describing the Colt M1911 pistol need a cleanup.
These tags need aliasing:
M1911
1911
Colt M1911
Colt 1911
These tags need to imply M1911:
Colt 1911A1 refers to an improved variant of the original design. Do we need to distinguish it from the original design?
1911 R1S refers to the stainless steel variant of Remington 1911 R1 (basically M1911 made by Remington).
Sig Sauer 1911 refers to Sig Sauer’s take on M1911.
Additionally there are Colt 45 and Colt .45 tags which contains pistols, beer and a revolver. It’s a mess. I’ll try to clean it up a bit, but I think it will need something more to discourage people from messing it up again. Edit: hmm, looks like some games might refer to M1911 as “Colt. 45”. Not sure what to do with it.
EDIT2: there’s also the AMT Hardballer, which is a M1911 clone. It’s called Silverballer in the Hitman games. IDK if it should imply M1911 or not.
