Trans rights get a brief reprieve, as SCOTUS has declined to hear an appeal by rightwing parents suing the Eau Claire, Wisconsin school district for its policy supporting transgender students.
Their original suit - which was dismissed by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals - argued that the policy violated their parental rights and religious freedoms. Three Justices - Alito, Kavanaugh, and Thomas - wanted to take up the case. That’s one Justice short of them doing so.
EDIT: It’s worth noting that of the three-judge panel that unanimously dismissed the parents’ appeal, two of them were Trump appointees. In their ruling, they said the parents had no legal right or standing to challenge the policy, and they had failed to provide evidence that the policy affected them or any of their children.
