I totally understand that to be honest. I was kind of “…ehhhhh…” going to see Revenge Of The Sith. That changed
very quickly just by how awesome that movie opened.

The Podrace is one of those times where I’ll freely admit that it’s
purely a personal reason for disliking it. Granted it
was a little too long, but my main reason for disliking it is I honestly did
not give a shit about Anakin Skywalker at that point. I know he would become Darth Vader, but I could not
at all get invested in that kid. More than anything, I
loved Obi Wan and Qui Gon’s chemistry together. And that is saying a
lot because I normally don’t care for Liam Neeson, but he fucking
nailed that role. As far as I’m concerned, the Podrace was basically one big long break that put the movie on hold, really didn’t contribute to the story, and took time away from the characters I liked.
I’ve kind of lost interest in him too, not because he’s lost his stride and all, but because he keeps shoehorning those skits with all those characters in. For me,
all his humor comes from his reactions and outbursts. Like, watch his
Catwoman outburst and tell me with a straight face that it’s not funny. For me, other than the skit where he actually got Dante Basco to dress up as Zuko, the skits are just basically putting the review on pause (akin to a commercial break).
