So Toy Story 5 is prolly gonna teach us the value of physical toys instead of being on gadgets 24/7 non stop.

Grappler Baki, especially the most recent releases, comfortably sits in the “What Do You Mean It’s Not Gay?” category.

Either everyone is gay coded, or Itagaki-sensei is gaslighting his readers into thinking that these sus activities are not only normal straight-male things, but PEAK male behavior.

Btw Grappler Baki has to have the most idiosycratic narration style when it comes to its fights.

Only in Grappler Baki does the author dedicate full pages of eyewitnesses, be it pro fighters, fight fans, or some unfortunate person narrating the street fight they just saw, making the narrations both have a degree of unreliability AND a sense of wonder in them.

Basically how fights are illustrated in Baki:

Something happens. Maybe someone gets punched so hard they get blown away through concrete wall, and did not die from it.

Cut to an eyewitness trying their best to explain what just happened.

“Big guy got hit in the face so hard I thought I heard gunshot, and he flew THROUGH a wall. He didn’t move after that. I went to get a closer look and saw him just lying there in the rubble. I thought he died right there but no, not only was he alive, he was smiling like he was taking a well deserved nap.”

“That’s nonsense.”

“Swear to god I did not make this up”

And you get a lot of this in Baki. A LOT.

Well. Depends.

There are moments where BAKI is one hundred percent more suspiciously homoerotic but the author tries to spin it as if it were the straightest manliest stuff than JoJo.

JoJo is glamorous and sexy.

BAKI is…like when you’re in the gym and you’re excessively admiring someone’s physique and you didn’t say NO HOMO.

Don’t recall where I heard this from, I only know that it was said long before Avengers Infinity War came out but it goes like this:
