Bowser in all the games and media is supposed to be entitled and oblivious.

I don’t count the Dennis Hopper Bowser. That whole thing was different. Much darker genre.

I don’t want to spoil anything, which is why my post was zero calories.

They did get all the characters absolutely perfect, not just Bowser. They got everything perfect, even Mario’s voice. It all works.

Am reading some Blood Meridian atm and I’m at chapter 2. This is probably like the fifth time we see The Kid fight somebody, and I’m only on page 26.
So far it reads like an RPG in the Wild West / Injun Country

Honestly sometimes I prefer when Bowser is serious and intimidating, like he is in Super Smash Bros. He is badass in it.

Artistically probably the best look at Mario’s universe, the way the world would look before getting warped into a game. Plenty of homage to the games, I just mean the world not being built like levels.

I guess he is pretty intimidating when he’s not around Peach. There is that penguin scene which was already shown in the trailer. And the fact that he actually did plan to kill literally everyone in his way is pretty damn scary too.

If Bowser is in his prime “evil asshole with a spoiled child’s temper” arc in the movie universe I can only imagine how much more vile these guys will be…

Just backed a new western Graphic novel called “Ghost of the Badlands” on indiegogo. It’s been fully funded in Less then 4 hours and was in the front page so it’s doing pretty well.

We need more Westerns.

I like the Mario Movie a lot better than the sonic movies but both are excellent positive examples of what happens when companies listen to and aim to please their fans.

At this rate Videogame adaptations could be the next big thing now that Superhero movies are in the decline. Nintendo especially is in an excellent position to challenge Disney. They already have a stable of franchises and characters as well known as anything Disney has with merchandise ready to go. Keep making movies as good as Mario and Disney is in trouble. They’ll either Adapt in order to compete or go bankrupt like they almost did prior to 2012.

Movie is on the same tier as The Lion King, Encanto and Frozen, I’ve got bad news for you.

Also, Disney is like three to four times as big as Nintendo is. They have the Disney brand, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Nat Geo, 20th Century (Fox), FX, ESPN, ABC, Freeform and other stuff. They’re not just one specific industry.

I can easily see the trend of new video game movies going horribly wrong, especially if the studios make zero effort to actually craft innovative, non-derivative stories for them. I can easily see that Five Nights at Freddy’s movie being shit, especially given that it’s getting the Peacock treatment.

People forget how close Disney came to straight up evaporating last decade or how precarious their position is even today. Superheroe movies have entered their fat Elvis phase. Their Streaming service and Theme parks are underperforming and Star Wars has been run into the ground harder then the Hindenburg. Their biggest creative output are subpar live action remakes and they’ve already done their most popular ones with their few original movies posting massive losses at the box office. They have no momentum and no plan except to ride the embers of the licenses they spent billions aquiring.

And now their is viable competition posting massive box office gains. All Nintendo needs to do is keep winning and giving people what they want and Disney Will be forced to take notice if they want to retain their position, let alone stay solvent.

Disney hasn’t been at risk of bankruptcy since like the 70s. They’re fine even if they aren’t in good shape right now (let’s be real: nobody in Hollywood is in good shape, especially WB who’s going through far, far worse).

I can see an adaptation of the Legend of Zelda being the biggest Fantasy Movie since Lord of the rings so long as it’s kept faithful to the games and pleases the fans. But should it be an adaptation of one of the games or an original story?

I always believe Nintendo is the video game version of Disney. If they wanted to take over cinema too, they easily could. I mean Nintendo also does annoying legal actions, has everyone buying their games no matter what they are, and own the highest grossing media franchise: Pokemon, which beats all of Disney’s own franchises.

Like I said, they’re in an excellent position If they choose to pursue this avenue. It’s not certain yet if they even want too. Nintendo has always done what they want and not what people think they should do even if it doesn’t make sense.
