I have Gmail, Derpibooru homepage/every other page, Toy and I’s RP, FB, YT, most of the time Google Play Music, sometimes other pages that I’m looking at.
Ok, folks, serious discussion time.Currently this image has about 185k comments on it, which is way, way more than the site’s original developers ever anticipated a single image having. Since the original assumption in the site’s early days was that an image would never get more than a few hundred comments at most, there was no cap/limit set on how many comments an image can have. And to this day, there continues to be no cap on image comments. However, one of our developers who focuses heavily on site performance/optimization is expressing concerns about this image. Currently, comments on this image take multiple seconds to load, while on other images they load almost instantly (at most, within 1/5th of a second). While a few seconds may not seem like a big deal, keep in mind that there’s normally 800-1000 people browsing the site at any given time (and sometimes, much more), and the more time the server spends loading comments for a single member this thread, the less resources are available to the other hundreds of members/visitors on the site.Because of this, we’re considering implementing a 200k comment limit on images, to match the 200k post limit on forum threads. However, that means that this thread will likely “cap out” within a month or two, and lock itself automatically.Since this image’s comments section has been a pretty major faucet of the community for the past few years, and is a large part of the overall site experience for a lot of you, we don’t want to implement such a change without your feedback either. Namely, would you be alright with moving to a forum thread or another image once this one gets up to the 200k mark, if such a limit is implemented? Please vote in this poll to make keeping track of things easier for me/us, but feel free to reply to this comment as well and I’ll try to reply assuming they don’t get burred quickly.Reblog for people who’ve not seen/heard about this already
If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for comments with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, comments containing the words winged humanization
, wings
, and spread wings
would all be found by a search for wing
, but sewing
would not be.
