So I’m working on Princess Molly, the ass was fat. Whatever the quality at least this nice royal plot is fun to draw. Still a bit of a WIP.

I’m kinda contemplating uploading her now. And share my plot worship with derpi I guess. Someone on Fur Affinity actually complained about me posting her, being a “rapey” character. Ha, what the heck?

Now that I look back, several of my highest scoring images involve “plot”. Seems like that’s something people here really like XD. Though I guess I can’t blame them.

That’s kinda stupid of them since that’s something based off of fanart and not the actual show.

Well some of the obvious yet commonly overlooked vital things I think I’ve finally absorbed for further improved art:
 
-Better symmetry  
-Better shading  
-Preplanning points (those preliminary lower layer sketches people use, for example a circle and crosshair within is used to coordinate drawing a pony head now make sense to me)  
-Smoothing out the lines  
-Repeatedly study the pro’s drawings

you would not believe how fuckin’ hard it is to make things symmetrical by hand, like holy shit don’t even bother. sketch the pose and structure and whatever, then copy and flip one side after you’ve sketched in what you need to, just make sure you add a little variety since nothing is ever truly symmetrical, not even boobs or faces. like flip the sketch, but nothing beyond that, like lines/colors, draw those yourself, because even if you’re tracing the sketch you’re inability to copy perfectly will add some variation, perfect symmetry is bad mmk.

What I’ve seen people do is just letting it flow. Dont worry about getting the drawing perfect during the sketch part of it. Let your hand go free and glide across the canvas. Worry about all that technical stuff later.

I think I might actually be getting worse. Might make sense being as there is just literally no drive in me to do art as of late.

@tigerfestivals Too bad I’ve turned into the type who complains about certain kinds of fanart as well. Had my opinion of Celestia ruined by a certain picture.

You know what’s funny it was a piece of fan art that made me “fall in love” with Celestia I was looking up clop when I found a picture by kloudmutt of Celestia in a maid uniform I zoomed in and scrolled around for a bit and I looked into her eyes something just clicked I mean I liked her before then but all the sudden she was my favorite character
