The Fallen Brony

Unfortunately, most of those writers, while they write good Spike episodes, are known for writing episodes that derail characters or even lore. Or just writing episodes that make bronies salty.

One day i bet spike will get tired being in twilight shadow and leave to become his own hero like dick grayson did with batman but i do think twilight and the others will be lonely without him.

Well, I did my research for them this time, Charlotte Fullerton has done some really good episodes in the past, so I apologize for what I said about him. My opinion for Betsy McGowan remains the same, but only because I don’t know how good a writer she is, like how many episodes has she written? just Power Ponies?

Anyway, since I can’t edit what I said before, here’s MY list again of writers, who I truly believe, can and know how to write a good Spike episode.

I clicked to see if we were having a huge Fire Emblem thread. Now I’m sad.

Wait up here, are you commenting about the fact that someone else commented on a YouTube video? Or are you saying one of the BPs here is Jerry Peet?

From the 2014 BABScon Writers Panel:
After watching that video, I now understand why some spike fans and sparity fans hate Meghan McCarthy so much, but I find it funny that the same person who disapproves of sparity being canon in the show is the same person who wrote “Inspiration Manifestation” and that episode had way more sparity moments than in “Secret of My Excess” hmm… could Meghan be trolling sparity fans?

My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

MLP:FIM was designed to be viewable by all ages, but the primary audience is young girls, the ones the toys are geared for. So you have to look at the various characterizations in the show through that lens.

Spike is the designated “little brother” character. He’s going to be equal parts adorable and annoying, just like a young girl’s view of any younger male sibling she has. He’s equally helpful and lazy, stubborn and vulnerable, funny and a little gross. He tries to fit in with the Mane Six like a little brother trying to keep up with his older siblings. And so in the episodes written for him, he inevitably gets in over his head and needs bailing out.

This is for the benefit of the primary audience. It gives young girls the opportunity of imagining themselves in the role of Spike’s big sister, helping out their little brother who’s gotten himself into trouble. So yeah, for an adult POV, Spike seems like he gets a raw deal from the writers. But you have to remember, it’s his job to get that raw deal.

A debate between at least two commenters where it’s evident in the posts that they’re getting angry over the topic.
