Mentioning species is a slipper slope as Twilight is now an alicorn along with Candance–who was one while growing up–and alicorns have much longer life spans too. In addition you have to factor how old Candance is and if alicorns can get as big as Celestia is Cadance, Twilight, and even Luna(I believe stated by Faust as not yet) fully grown? If not then there’s a looser connection between their chronological age and maturation and it would be hard to prove one case for Spike and another for them. This is without factoring other long living creatures like Discord and their own maturity verse their nature.
 
Adding you can’t ignore that Spike doesn’t go to school; he does have an official job; he’s old enough to fall in love; and he can come and go as he please in and out of Ponyvile.

We still don’t know how old spike is developmentally. Even though he is chronologically older, since he is a completely different species he could be much younger or older in terms of maturation.

Maybe not that much even. Applejack said she was younger than the CMCs during the cutie mark incident. So the difference is more than five years but less than the CMCs’ current age. We can guess that little AJ was at least a year younger than the CMCs in her time, otherwise I doubt AJ would mention the age difference for a couple months. At the same time little AJ would have to be at least a couple years older than 5 year old Sweetiebelle given SB’s size–assuming SB wasn’t just a runt.
 
So if you were to estimate the CMCs age at 10 then Spike is between 7 to 9 years younger than the mane 6. And depending on AJ’s age from the other six, that difference can change up or down by a year or two depending on the pony (ex: we know Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie).

Spike is older than Sweetie Belle. Spike was hatched when the Rainboom happened and Rarity got her cutie mark. Rarity was an adult at Sweetie’s 5th birthday party. Spike is only around 10 years younger than the mane 6.

You don’t know their age. So you just guessing ages here, and don’t believe this ship will become canon because it’s not.

Spike and Sweetie Belle are roughly the same age, to me SpikeBelle makes more sense then the sparity shipping.
