I will say this much: The quick, unacknowledged swear would be far more hilarious than it being said repeatedly, or even noticed. Just have Fluttershy say “And Rainbow, when we get to the tea party, you finally give a fuck and enjoy yourself! You’ll see, it’ll be so much fun; far more than you could ever imagine.”
 
That’d be hilarious for it simply being out of nowhere, never looked back on, never answered, never referenced, and never done again. It’d take some time for the joke to be “understood”, but it’d last a lot longer than if a pony stubbed their hoof, yelled “FUCK!”, and got “terrified stares” as a reaction; staying power.

I agree with this so much. It’s like, Swearword comedy and other things, people thinking it’s funny to have the pony swear a thousand times, or that it’s “cool” or spammed during relations or something.
 
used well it can be very good, currently used by most people however is not this case xD

Generally speaking, vulgar words aren’t really a necessity. If anything, we rely on them too much in society, often using them instead of the massive number of words that can replace them.
 
A lack of them works a lot better for certain scenes in fics. In particular, if the scenes involve a lot of sensual romance, then having vulgar words tends to throw off the sensual, tender nature of the scene with its sharp contrast.
 
And let’s be honest; “Fuck” isn’t sexy. It’s suitable to shout by itself, but sharp gasp, drawn-out moans, and the occasional words often never seeking to be answered, but working as more of a verbal depiction of the character’s thoughts in the moment… THOSE tend to be so much better, than simply resorting to “Fuck”.
