Problem is, it depends on what direction you approach zero from. If you start with a positive number and go down to zero, you get positive infinity. But if you start with a negative number and go up to zero, you get negative infinity. And with 0/0, all bets are off. You can make a case for any number. As the limit of 3x/x, for example, it’s 3.
What you’ve just said is a really crude version of the limits theory.
