Agreed, it’s perhaps the most annoying stereotype in the fandom.
 
by now, it is hackneyed and unoriginal.

I hate seeing a stereotypically tall Applejack/short Rainbow Dash, it’s done too much. The character I base on them will be given opposite height than this.

To be fair, being athletic does have some bearing on a girl’s breast size. If she doesn’t use proper support, the chest of a girl who does a lot of sports and physical activity (Rainbow Dash to a T) tends to shrink – it’s just a natural reaction of the body to prevent discomfort. The rest, I agree with. I see a bit more masculinity in Dash which would lead me to believe that she’s probably a bit taller and trim than Applejack, who strikes me as a little more feminine in shape (larger breasts, a little shorter, slightly better build from living on a farm). In my fic, for example, Rainbow’s got about a head of height on Applejack, though she started off a few inches shorter than her (similar to how guys and girls grow during adolescence).
 
 
So yeah, I think the “short Rainbow Dash” stereotype is a bit annoying. I’m okay with equal height, but Rainbow strikes me as the type of girl whose genetic make-up has a bit of boyishness thrown in. Males tend to grow taller than females to be more physically imposing. That, and Little-‘jack snuggled up into Rainbow Tall is much cuter in my mind’s eye. :D

That if you are fast and strong, you must be short and stout (and also flat-chested)
 
It is not true where I grew up but the stereotype is quite strong in this fandom

Also, I like the idea of them being different sizes.
 
They’ve also got different fetlock styling!

Appledash is always good but I never like to see stereotypically short Dashie

I love seeing Pinkie’s of extreme size. I don’t know if I prefer bite-sized or jumbo economy, but I love both.
