basically the same idea but with the dragontigerlord and tigerdragonlord, it’s basically a combination of that and getter robo (the other part becomes the other’s chest/torso piece but they can switch between configurations). the drawback with tobikage is the other robots can’t go into beast mode when the tobikage combines with the third one

Do you know about the Super Mecha anime Ninja Senshi Tobikage, or its English dub version Ninja Robots, which came during the mid-80’s?  
FACT: It was produced by the same guys who did Naruto and its follow-up Naruto Shippuuden (Hurricane Chronicles).

AFAIK, with the image posted above, I saw Spike as that very fast white mecha ninja who forms the torso part of any of the three mecha while in beast mode, which are piloted by the protags. The lion, the dragon, and the bird of prey.

it was actually worse in the original draft. the dragon tail wouldn’t be tucked in (the idea would be it’ll act as an armored loincloth)… you can imagine what THAT would look like
