Not really. This season has been so far the best whet it comes to AJ and her character. But then again, this is the fanbase that constantly complained about AJ not having issues other than her stubbornes, and then threw a fit when the writers showed us how painfully overprotective she can be to those she cares about the most.
It could be more a reflexive thing.
Like gently slapping someone’s hand when they’re reaching for something. If they’re deliberate about it, it’s not going to stop them, but in general circumstances they’ll probably stop, whether by habit or intention.
