I remember when this show was first on the air, I tuned in one Saturday morning out of curiosity…
..right in the middle of this very scene. I was a bit disturbed by it. WTFed, quickly changed the channel back to Transformers, and did my best to avoid ponies until G4 rolled around.
It’d be hilarious if (via flashback) we learned that Twilight Sparkle had this same problem when she was learning teleportation at Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns.
@Amethyst_Crystal
module um..fetish i guess,
there was a thing going around here about dividing a pony into 2 parts that could feel and everything sort of like this ^…

Bored fillies wanna play checkers.
If you mean why she’s stuck like that, well.. unicorns need to be careful with magic! @gittonsxv
module?
She’s not actually cut in half or whatever.
Her lower half is just stuck in a nearby plane of existence.
G1 unicorns essentially travel briefly through the Ethereal plane, a la D&D.
It’s how stuff like ghosts travel invisibly too.

True it wouldn’t but in G1 being stuck in the Realm of Darkness is just another day in Dream Valley.
That’s happened so often that she can’t even pretend to be scared anymore.
@Background Pony Number 17
Somehow, I don’t see getting stuck in the Realm of Darkness being brushed off so easily in G4.
Her lower half is trapped on Dream Valley’s ethereal plane, not elsewhere on the material.

Context?
I’m sure the Korean animation team put it in there as an Easter Egg.
And here I thought this particular ‘style’ of animation in the series was from the American studio.
Mind blown.
