Being a fan of diving underwater, there’s a trick to it; keep your eyes closed as you’re diving, and when the bubbles/aquatic “turbulence” has died down then them. It’s much gentler on the eyes, especially if you don’t swim forwards, pushing your eyes “into” the water.
Some people can if their eyes are adjustable to it
