I may not like G5 all that much, but it has a lot of strong points and cool stuff. Anyone can like whatever they wants more and everyone can and should be cool with it.

You wanna know why this fandom is divided? Because fans won’t let fans enjoy things, because they like to gatekeep each other, because you keep making the point that just because many people don’t like G5, I shouldn’t like it either.

Same could also be said that there’s things people don’t like about G5. They’re not obligated to watch it, but because it’s simply in the G4 world, it makes us curious to us G4 fans. If people see a G4 thing in G5 not beimg “respected” like how they want it to be, then they’re gonna hate on it. As much as I hate to say it, but that’s what so many people have disagreed upon when Spike showed up. The same almost applies to Disney Star Wars, how am I not supposed to react negatively when Luke became more of an ass than the hopeful Jedi he used to be?

The same can say about the opposite. If you really hate G5, why are you on a G5 video commenting about how much you hate it? It’s like me going to church and shouting how much I hate Christianity.

Derpibooru has filters. Anti-G5ers can filter G5 content to avoid seeing it. I don’t want to filter G5 content because I want to see it, which means I’m forced to look at annoying comments that talk negative about G5 nonstop. I tried to ignore those, but I can only ignore it for so long because like I said, nonstop. If you have a choice, please give others the same choice too.

If I said G5 has divided the fandom even more, you would have said the same thing regardless. Not sure why you’re using the past as an to make G5 to look better. The sad reality is that G5 has more hate than love.

Many things in this fandom have done that, Twilicorn, Equestria Girls, Discord, Starlight Glimmer, and the finale. G5 is not some great sin that divided the fandom. Many things had done that already.

I don’t get this about anti-G5ers. They always say they’re not trying to be negative and then throw words like “stupid”, “idiots”, and “corner cutting”, right at the people behind the show too. You said you WANT to like G5. Well, you don’t. End of story. There is no point telling me what you want when it’s just want. At the end of the day you don’t like the direction it is going. That’s it. It is you being negative toward it. Just admit it and move on, it’s not hard. Even worse you’re trying to turn your personal opinions into some righteous battle against the writers like it’s a revolution. It’s not that deep. You don’t like things. We get it. You’re not fighting a tyrant. Calm down.

I don’t like how Pokemon is going either but I don’t go all over the place, especially on the Pokemon threads of this site, and tell people how much I hate it now. I’m tired of that. Aren’t you tired? It’s been 2 years.

Obviously? The crystals held nothing much like the element stones held nothing, they just represented something that was “already there”, but it took something specific to kickstart it. Here is a big problem though; aside fro mtwi literally saying she locked the magic away, we have seen that in the before time when the three tribes were in constant conflict, they HAD all their powers. Them “not being friends” doesn’t rob ponies of their magic. And worse, as I pointed out, the G4 ponies faced far worse than one unicorn with an attitude.

It’s refusing to settle for something unsatisfactory and sloppy when you know for a fact they could have done better. G4 got slapped with this time and again any time they released a stinker of an episode or introduced absurd retcons, particularly in it’s later seasons where characters were portrayed in very OOC manners due to the writers being brought in who didn’t go through 7-8 previous seasons worth of character development.

If something is sub par, you say it and you point it out. Sitting in complacency is why pokemon is so atrocious. Sitting in complacency is what the Sonic fans DIDN’T do when the movie design of Sonic was revealed.

G5 could be good, could be grand, could be amazing. However, no one objected to pony life’s atrocious art style and “lmao so randumz” writing, so naturally when G5 came, the 2d series was exactly that. Because those who spoke against it were told to just “block it and move on” or similar such statements. Well, now those people block that entire chunk of G5 because it’s everything they wanted to avoid.

That leaves the CG series, and the movie starts off with a very sour note of somehow G4’s hopeful ending being destroyed so that the new cast can remake it. Well that will require very quality and logical writing for something so grave, something so drastic as to separate not just the three pony tribes, but ALL species who were incredibly intertwined AND a being as powerful as Discord since it’s not like he’d let anything happen to Fluttershy or if anything did he’d do something grave to whoever did it. So we get an explanation and… it’s weak. It’s absurdly weak. It doesn’t mesh up with any possible continuity and does nothing but belittle the G4 cast and portray them as idiots.

This leads to now where Spike is reintroduced, except he’s fully an adult dragon of giant size. And… the dragons are just pony models with a couple accessories. All the dragons have the exact same face shape and body shape and it’s grotesquely lazy.

I will point it out as such and so should anyone else who is sick of a show that is “supposed” to be a continuation of G4, but can’t seem to get basic facts correct that were introduced in season 1.

I love MLP. I’m extremely passionate about it and I WANT to like G5, but it REFUSES to stand on it’s own feet and keeps trying to tie to G4, but it doesn’t work with the completely character assassinating writing. While PART of it can be blamed on those in charge of G5 for not knowing that all direct G4 references would cost money, it falls to the writers who fail to make the plot threads consistent and not make the G4 cast look like blithering idiots when they faced far worse issues than Opaline.

As for G5 Spike, what has been my gripe? Hmm? Have I said a single negative thing about his character? The writing about him? No I haven’t because I have no issue with any of it. However I see another batch of production corner cutting with all the dragons literally just being pony models with minor accessories. Dragons were never quadrupeds in G4, and even Sparky is a biped.

Are they? The ONLY large dragon who moved on all fours was the green one from Owl’s well, and he was trying to eat spike, who is a very small target. So does he have hooves or elephant feet for forelegs?

That’s a no, he has hands. And he’s normally upright.
Let’s see the normal stance of the Dragonshy Dragon:

And I can go into the newer dragons like Torch and even with Gameloft having a static shot of him being on all fours, there aren’t any hooves or elephant shaped feet, he has hands.

The root of what I am saying isn’t blind hate, it’s disappointment in the writers and modelers and wanting better from them.

If you never fight for what you love, they you doom it to being torn apart by people who don’t love it.
