Desu is a Japanese copula verb mainly functioning as is/am/are etc and putting it in the end of a sentence is grammatically correct in Japanese, but odd in most western languages and I think the artist confused it with ‘Baka’

I can totally see thier relationship being of more rivals, to friends, and then real frineds. With how Trixie acted at the end of “magic duel” it seems to fit.
