Start bringing controversial topics into the show without the moral being that you can get along despite your disagreements. After all, the show is still about caring and understanding, isn’t it?

This is actually a really good question. I’ve got nothing. The ending of ME3, which was a massive, last-minute plot twist that turned the universe into a steaming shitpile no matter what the player did, hasn’t convinced me to not be hyped over Andromeda. I guess there’s no big event that would force me to stop watching, but boredom and a lack of progression would definitely do my patience in.

Nothing. If I can put up with Ash Ketchum acting like an idiot for fifteen seasons, I can put up with whatever Hasbro has to throw at me.
 
Although, switching voice actors or replacing a member of the Mane Six would initiate a resonance cascade with my jimmies, causing an inter-dimensional empire to conquer Earth.

Gosh, there are so many people who say that they’d quit watching the show if one or more of the Mane 6 died, yet there are so many fanfics out there (most notably Fallout Equestria) that have members of the Mane 6 die.

That’s what I love about Equestria, too. It seems all sugary, sweet and perfect at first glance, like something out of G3 but with better art and animation. Then, a foolish pony wanders into the Everfree and gets petrified by a cockatrice, Nightmare Moon returns or Discord corrupts a significant portion of the town. Just a side note: how in Tartarus does Zecora survive in the Everfree? There always seems to be danger lurking just outside her door.

Is it strange that I actually mind alicorn Twilight a lot less than reforming Discord?
 
I mean, Princess Twilight didn’t sit well at all with me at first but I think she’s beginning to grow on me as long as the series remains good. Maybe PT will give us more insight into the mysterious and fascinating lives of Celestia and Luna.
 
As for reforming Discord, “Keep Calm and Flutter On” was terrific until he turned to good. It was an abrupt, sudden, unrealistic about-face. Discord was an amazing villain who offered a surprisingly deep look into pony psychology. He had bucketloads of potential, especially if he was a villain in the comics (which seem to be a bit darker than the show, which is awesome). Alas, Discord is reformed and I can’t see how he could return and possibly be an interesting character.

Twilight becoming a Wonderbolt.  
A Mane 6 member getting a boyfriend over the course of a single episode.

For me, I’m not quite sure, but they’ve been getting closer ever since the Canterlot wedding. Cadance and Shining Armor are characters that look like they’re right out of a bad fanfiction. The villains were great, if it weren’t for Chrysalis I would’ve dropped the show like it’s hot.
 
This “globally recognized princess in the mane 6” thing is probably going to stretch my suspension of disbelief something fierce if not break it outright, considering it was a citywide if not national affair when the last one did something as ordinary (albeit a special PERSONAL occasion) as getting married, and she’s not one of the “royal sisters”! So everypony treating her the same way would SCREAM “inconsistent”.
 
Twilight better show some tangible limits and legitimate flaws after this. It was already way too close for comfort to “unicorn master race” so I swear, if Scootaloo isn’t flying and SHE is, I’m going to blow a circuit.
 
Overall, I love the fandom, but my patience is wearing ever-thinner for the show itself.

Um, no. Titles don’t work like that.

If I can make a confession, I never watched the show for itself. I watched it mostly for the fanworks. They can not possibly do anything because they already had done a lot of silly or cliché or childlish or girly things, it’s been that kind of show from the beginning. (Genial bits and pieces aside, that is the truth.)
 
So if people will stop watching it over something silly that happens on the show, I guess I’ll feel a tiny bit sorry about not cashing in on its popularity somehow while I could, or sorry that so much good fanwork will no longer have anyone to comprehend them, bit of a loss there, but nothing they do on the show could possibly make me hate it, because I did not have that sort of perception about it from the beginning.

Make it actually suck?

Indeed! I can not imagine a single thing they could do that would make me stop watching, because the few things that would make me stop watching are things that they don’t want to do.

Because this Show isn’t Dark enough to kill an important character off for good.

Considering how well Hasbro has been taking care of the show so far, they’d probly have to end it for me to stop watching it :)

They’d never do it. While I completely and whole-heartedly agree that this is exactly the way humans SHOULD be portrayed as compared to the ponies, even with an H.P. Hoovecraft mythos regarding them… Hasbro would never do it.
