@Badumsquish
That’s my theory too, they’d hide their bodies and pretend to be a pony in trouble or something and when one gets close enough they’d attack. That’s kinda how I explain the sphinx’s instinct to guard things too. They’d just plop themselves down infont of something lots of creatures want, weather it be a treasure or the entrance to a town, or access to a resource like a river, and just eat when something inevitably comes by. And they have the big feet for the sand.
@Background Pony #BF5D
My backstory is nobody knows exactly why they have such odd anatomy. There’s a persistent myth that they originally had the pony-like head and torso to lure actual ponies close to eat them, but there’s no actual records or evidence of it actually happening :D
Perhaps lamias are not a naturally occurring species but the result a magical lab intern’s run away experiment or a failed attempt to create a snake army by some corrupt and power hungry wizard unicorn? :)
@redweasel
It’s a weird design choice I’ve seen on a lot of them. Some even have enough “leg” that there’s an outright space between them before they fuse back together into the snake tail. It’s like when they give a visible kneejoint to mermaids: it just makes them look like a human woman in a costume rather than an actual creature D:
the full butt going into the snake part is absolutely terrible, I agree. the bottom part of a snake is a torso and tail, not legs! it definitely looks like she’s just stuffing her human legs in a snake costume.
personally I think you’re entitled to draw anuses and vaginas wherever you want. what I meant was for a snake they don’t have an anus and a vagina. they have a single cloaca that leads to both the uterus and the colon. so by that thinking if she had a snake cloaca down there, and a maregina, then she could get double pregnant!

The choice of anatomy I think looks horrid is when they do a lamia and they have the full butt that goes into legs and THEN forms the tail, like this D:
am I the only one who sees this is vagina on pony half and anus on snake half? like I dunno about everyone else but I see lamias with a vagina on the human half all the time and absolutely no mention of where the anus is so I don’t see why this is causing such problems
A proper ‘taur of upper body being humanoid/other and the lower part being animal means the cutoff is around the navel before the hips start and means the “bits” are located where the animal lower part’s bits should be.
These rules you speak of, they are mostly inconsistent ramblings from what I’ve found, and for the most part result in a creature that either cannot breathe, cannot maintain its circulatory system, or is some kind of human-horse centipede in one package.
This character, being a fusion of equine and snake, has what seems to be an equine vulva just prior to the snake bits starting, and a snake cloaca further down its body in the correct location for such things.
I agree. This hurts a little. I see why people do it this way. It’s not as weird feeling. But it doesn’t really fit how their biology works. That’s why I can’t really sexualize them, cloacas are weird and it’s just soo far down. But this way breaks centaur rules and it makes me question everything. how would they lay eggs like that?
That’s a common problem when sneks get kinky :D
XD
Best thing about her is she could do cowgirl while you gave her a rimjob XD
So… considering her anatomy… would an apt nickname for her be Chasey Lain?
Even if it was true, at least nowadays the lamias are allies of Equestria. With SOME bumps along the way, though :P

it sure is hard to beat perfection.
True, she’s superior.

Lamia anatomy is even moreso.

she’s got enough torso for two uteruses, huh?

Nah. The girl parts are where they’d be on the pony, the butt parts are where they’d be on the snake :D
@PegaSUS
Soon :D

@Damaged
Their anatomy is a total mess. These ones have more normal traditional snake anatomy, though :D

This guy gets it :D
tija remains my favorite snaketaur
Just because people do it all the time doesn’t mean it’s not wrong and terrible and I like badum and I’m disappointed

It means that if a centaur had a dick on the front it would be horrible and that the same goes here
The above anatomy is a mess.
If it’s “lamia” rules, then the bits are at the “human” hips, and the creature is actually like this, only legless:
A proper ‘taur of upper body being humanoid/other and the lower part being animal means the cutoff is around the navel before the hips start and means the “bits” are located where the animal lower part’s bits should be.
But the above is a horrible mishmash of the two.
