He was snootier than usual, since his characterization is that he wasn’t uptight regardless of being part of “the Canterlot Elite”.

Fancy Pants wasn’t that bad.

Even a simple scene where its revealed that he’s living out of equestria would at least be better than ending the show without any conclusion to a character filled with mystery and potential

I honestly wish I could have though of this. It’s a great plot twist that helps patch up plot holes regarding Fancy Pants’ characterization.
 
Anyway, I want to apologize for having to delete so many comics lately. I promise there will be only one more “Rainbow Roadtrip” comic, and only one more “Sunset’s Backstage Pass” comic (and the “Backstage Pass” one will take place after the events of the special have happened).
 
I also plan to do at least one more Grogar/Legion of Doom comic before the season finale, to establish a few more things about Grogar.
 
So, thank you for your support, and sorry that some of my comic haven’t been up to par.

I hope being a jerk is not his main personality because I really liked Fancy Pants :(  
Both him and Filthy Rich, I liked how they’re nice rich/high class ponies.

His reactions to the decorations is how people always tend to react to someone else decorating for something they usually do. They have a personal standard and tend to have a hard time letting go.

In any case, he had a satisfied smile when it was all sorted out.
 
Slightly less understandable was how he reacted to (subpar) decorations, but nothing unforgivable, by any means.
 
Notably, Rarity was portrayed as being relieved when he and the other two showed up offering assistance, during his first scene, right before they were shooed out.

Fancy Pants was nice enough when they didn’t kick him out right away. He didn’t know at first that they were doing it because they thought the princesses were doing it all themselves (every time Twilight said it, it was after they kicked him out). Once he found out, he laughed and told them how it actually is.

This is only his third appearance in a speaking role. 2/3 snooty means this is his “usual” characterization by now.
 
Maybe his “friendly personality” was the anomaly we fandom took too much at face. Or maybe he is normally friendly and the times he was snooty was justifiable frustration with Spike and the Mane Six respectively as opposed to anything fair to hold against him.

It’s so weird to how they flat out refuse to use him even in episodes where it actually makes zero sense for him to not appear at all
 
It doesn’t help how inconsistent it is, he cares more about the Equestrian Games than his own Cousin’s wedding

Because nopony could possibly have more than a single layer to their characterization, right?

Honestly even at his rudest I think Fancy is nicer than Blueblood. He mostly just got offended by what he thought was Twilight arrogantly brushing off his help and taking his job away from him (he bowed and everything). He still legitimately wanted to help her.

I thought Fancy Pants behaved incredibly snootily and rudely in this episode, as opposed to his usual friendly personality. Would actually explain a lot.

Blueblood’s chances of getting another speaking role aren’t looking that great, in all seriousness, are they?

Why would he not be a jerk when they were booted of the commission, a Position they most likely holded for years (princess Spike Comes to mind).

Fancy was only nice to Rarity because he thought she was somepony important and worth knowing. Only due to the fact that she got a room at the castle back in Sweet & Elite. Something we assume not anypony can just get, based on his reaction.
 
In Princess Spike episode he was a little less himself but still acted as a gentlestallion around the Princesses. The ONE group of ponies he is not above. He was even trying to get special privages for himself and other elites, which Twilight denied. But once he found out all about “Twilight’s” bad decisions, he basically helped formed a mob right away.
 
You see? Fancy was a Blueblood all along. He doesn’t respect the Mane 6 because he doesn’t see them as ponies who are above him in any way. Tho I think he is more honorable than Blueblood. Since he still stuck around and waited for Twilight to come to her senses and ask for help in the Between Dark and Dawn episode. Whereas I’m sure Blueblood mighve just left.
 
(Tho it would be great to have him back, imagine him being obsessed with getting the swans what they need because it’s the ONLY thing he gets to do as a prince.)

Don’t you taunt me with the idea he would have been better for the role.

Now you mention it, it kinda would’ve been better if Blueblood did have this role. It’d be a nice comeback, would seem more in character and they could’ve even worked in a redemption.
