Another wedding art of one my favorite ships. Why? I think Starlight x Trixie is a great ship. Two ponies with a lot in common in regards to their past mistakes, these two have a lot of chemistry. And I prefer Sunburst with Twilight. So here is their wedding.

No, but Starlight’s definitely would, seeing as she’s Twilight’s pupil and best friend.
Well, in a lot of weddings they say “We’re gathered here today in the sight of God…”, so maybe in Equestria they say “We’re gathered here today in the sight of Celestia…”.
…but, then would Celestia actually have to be present for them to say that?
…probably shouldn’t think about it too much…
Good point, I’m not sure how I forgot about that one.
Now I’m wondering whether Celestia presides over all weddings in Canterlot (as the highest authority in the city), or just the royal ones.
Pear Butter and Bright Mac’s wedding was officiated by Mayor Mare too, not a princess. The only one that was officiated by a princess was Cadance and Shining Armors.
I’m still stuck on the question of who normally officiates weddings in this universe.. :<

Cranky Doodle’s wasn’t. Then again, that might not be the best counterexample, with three princesses present in the town hall during the ceremony (and one stuck just outside).
