I think it’s a byproduct of being a dragon. Among his own kind, he’d probably be considered one of the most tender and gentle lovers there is. But among ponies, it takes considerable effort for them not to end up covered in scratches, bruises, and bite marks.

Dragon hide is tough, man. Also, dragons tend to be pretty aggressive in general so it’s not surprising.B
