hey, I’ve been doing it too. you’re not disgusting; it just feels kind of grody to be going on about how petting your cat is some sort of forbidden act.
and yes, the laws regarding minors are extremely f-ed up. I blame certain religions, for deifying children as an incentive to get their members to reproduce more. but something being illegal does not make it unethical.
it’s pretty clear that this behavior in cats connected to their sexuality.
it’s also connected with petting, enjoying being petted, and not having sex. if it was just about sex, it wouldn’t do anything for male cats, or cats who weren’t in heat.
@redweasel
You wanna take this down a notch pal? I’m not seriously shaming anyone. You don’t have to call me DISGUSTING, Jesus.
And also, I don’t think that defense of “just cuz its sexy doesn’t mean its sex” would hold up in court very well if this was a minor we were talking about. I don’t even get what you’re trying to say here, it’s pretty clear that this behavior in cats connected to their sexuality. I’m not demanding that unaware people be arrested for bestiality or anything, I’m just pointing it out.
female cats also bite and claw to express their yiffiness so you’re lucky if all you get is licked. and just because something’s sexy, doesn’t mean it’s sex. shaming people just for doing stuff that feels good is kind of disgusting, honestly.
female horses have erogenous zones on their flanks, as in the inside of their belly as it goes behind the knee. I don’t think that particularly relates to lordosis behavior though.
@redweasel
All this is true, but still my point was cats also have a lot of nerves at the space above their tail (where he’s scratching Celly) because males instinctively gnaw at that area when they want to oof. That behavior is specifically feline, but some animals have similar behaviors. Horses frequently bite each other when they want to oof, but as far as I know there’s no specific spot, just a general area on the lower half of the body. This behavior isn’t completely the same though because female horses don’t seem quite as pleased when this happens, whereas cats (curiously, of both sexes) become extremely OOFED when you do the “special bite”.
For real, I mean it and I felt very weird when I realized what was going on. If you scratch really hard in that spot you’ll see it in their face. The cat will look A LOT more excited and blissful than if you had just continued to pet as normal and they might start attacking you with licks like ”mmmmm yah baby KEEP GOING OOF :V”
If you do this to your cat, you’re basically OOFING them.
oddly it’s not present in canines, as far as I can tell. and supposedly it’s present in elephants, but I can’t find anything about horses, outside of back injuries.
||You know, the reason cats love being scratched in that spot above their tail is because it’s connected to their sexuality. They bite each other in that spot when they want some. Scratching there (as opposed to just petting them down the back) is akin to foreplay.
They lick you a lot and act weird because you’re turning them on when you do this. ||
I think you’re still misunderstanding what my point even was….
I never said petting your cat is a sexual thing to do.
I’m talking about a /specific/ trigger that cats do when you do a /specific/ thing to them. And that thing /is not petting them/.
Everyone loves to be pet, that’s just a comfort thing.

lordosis behavior is found in felines, rodents, and interestingly primates. it’s mostly gone in humans, but it’s why humans find women sexier when they arch their backs and thrust out their butts.
oddly it’s not present in canines, as far as I can tell. and supposedly it’s present in elephants, but I can’t find anything about horses, outside of back injuries.
um…. that is very disturbing XD i… yea im not scratching a cat there again…
to think that i was arousing my aunt’s cat when i was 6… pretty fucked up XD

Cats are fascinating, they behave far more human than most other pets.
