“I’LL HAVE WHAT SHE’S HAVING.”
It’s just been revoked.
Fair enough, just wanted to say that.
I like the idea that humans did exist a long time ago, then they became the Abyssinians, like Capper, Iron Will, and the Storm King
Sorry, it’s been a while since I watched that episode, but it did ruin the environment and thus any magic energy that was left floating around in the atmosphere.
The great thing about individual theories is that they’re all equally valid. And, even if the canon of the show contradicts our theories, we don’t have to go by it. We can just call “alternate universe,” and follow our own theories anyway.
The throne specifically did not affect changelings. That was sort of the entire point.

Perhaps… My headcanon is that Dragons were the first creatures to gain sentience, evolving from the pony equivalent of the dinosaurs, the Changelings were the next, evolving from the giant insects that roamed the planet like the megafauna of Earth. The reason why Changelings can change shape is simply due to their magic, however it took effort and a constant flow of magic to stay in a stable form, thus they consumed magic energy and pony love is just another type of magic. The reason why the reformed changelings can survive without needing to take it is because Thorax had destroyed Chrysalis’s thone which was absorbing magic from the surrounding area, and thus from the Changelings living in the hive.

What if the changelings were a human creation, designed from wasps with a more equine shape and larger size? And, what if their ability to make themselves look like other creatures and things was just a side effect of the way they were designed? What if it was part of their design to feed off of the positive emotions of humans, and ponies’ love was the closest they could find in the absence of humans?
Not since The Mean 6.

Nice!
