The times I’m talking about were before she became an alicorn. Heck, one’s from “Applebuck Season”, back when th series was just starting.
Your suggestion makes me think of Rainbow and Twilight or even Starlight because Rainbow is a highly skilled pegasus and Twilight and Starlight are two powerful magic-users.

Also, using Twilight as an example of rapid short-ranged teleportation isn’t fair as she is an alicorn…
I didn’t say it was completely useless, just that teleportation would typically be the better option.
And however much energy teleportation should require, I somehow doubt it does, given all the times Twilight has performed a bunch of short-distance teleports in a row for no good reason.
Maybe not for the relocation, but it can be useful while doing something in cities like Cloudsdale or other epical adventurous places where it is nowhere to stand and walk after the teleportation.
And I think that on small distances teleportation should require more power than self-levitaton.

Well, a unicorn’s abilities are determined by their magic potential, and they sure as hell aren’t as fast or agile while using magic to fly…
