Basically Twilight used their “Princess Indorsement” against them and told everyone they’re handing out their merchandise for free. Flim and Flam have no choice but to pretend they’ve run out of stock and leave town, with the townsfolk and Spike, AB, and Pinkie angry at the two for ruining their Holidays.
What’d they do, toss the gifts off the side of a mountain grinch style or was it just annoying lecturing?
I feel like they were a bit too harsh on AJ and Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle and Applejack do the classic “[insert holiday here] means so much more than buying gifts” routine…and end up being chewed out by their relatives and the townsponies for being a pair of killjoys. I thought it was pretty hilarious.
Very sweet issue in my opinion and we’ll drawn. There’s the message about being together, but also about letting others have some fun and seeing that’s proving your point is not always the most important thing. The latter is actually much more important than the anti-commerciaism message. While Flim amd Flam represent the extreme side of commercialism, there is also a nod that some people find buying presents fun and enjoy the silliness of the season and it’s OK.
Edited
So, another anti-commercialism message from a franchise that’s all about selling you stuff you don’t need?
I always did wonder what these people would do if they were told, ‘Your message about this meant a lot to me. So much so that I won’t spend any more money on anything you sell. Thanks!’
Cliche can work if done right. Is this issue okay at least?
It’s a run-of-the-mill “holidays are about being together and not about presents” story. Its one big draw is involving the Flim Flam brothers.
