Sia To Star In ‘My Little Pony: The Movie’ As Pony Pop Star Songbird Serenade
CHECK OUT THE LATEST
Global pop phenomenon Sia will be making another foray into the world of animation when she plays pony pop star Songbird Serenade in the upcoming film My Little Pony: The Movie, because if anyone could play the part of a singing magical pony, it’s Sia.
Hitting theatres next October with a huge cast of other voice talent including Taye Diggs, Emily Blunt, Uzo Aduba and more, My Little Pony: The Movie is also set to receive some Sia tunes for its official soundtrack, as the singer is reportedly contributing two original songs.
With Songbird Serenade seemingly based on Sia herself — the pony pop icon sporting Sia’s trademark black and blond wig — fans of both her music and My Little Pony are surely overjoyed at this amazing meeting of movies and music. Check out My Little Pony’s video announcement of the Sia’s appearance as Songbird Serenade, below.
That doesn’t mean they can’t do things behind her back. They could have negotiated something for the contract that lets the pony in the movie look exactly like her and have two chosen songs by her in the movie that don’t relate to the plot in order to promote her, without her knowing about these two points in the contract.
Or, her management could have told her about it and she was against that at first, but they talked her into it somehow.
Nothing says she can’t get manipulated or that she always has the confidence to stand up against her management if they disagree with her about something and are determined to push something they want through.
Much as like Svengallop manipulated Rara, she could get manipulated by her manager as well.
I remain cautious on this, there is too much potential risk for abuse and manipulation here.

In real life, artists actually have a say in what their management does, and often they are the ones in charge. Management do not go around plugging Sia into a MLP movie without her knowledge or permission.
Knowing her and how chill she is, I bet she was just happy to be a pony.
Are you implying that things that happen in life can’t appear in a TV show?
I was thinking about that episode too, already, and it’s frighteningly accurate.
That is a cartoon about a fictional character. This is real life.

You two should (re)watch “The Mane Attraction” - Just because she wouldn’t allow it to happen doesn’t mean it can’t be happening and she just doesn’t know about it.
She’s “quit” singing because she got too popular before. For a while she was only writing songs for others. This is not the kinda thing Sia would allow.

If not her, then her managers might have made such a deal for her.
I heard of managers controlling their clients, even though it should be the other way around, since the managers work for them…..
Sia would never do that. Considering how annoyed she gets re:labels trying to sell her out…
That line concerns me a lot. I hope they don’t make it similar to the way how anime shows in Japan nowadays do it, to shove a random song by Sia into the movie that she just made recently, but that has nothing to do with the movie at all.
I still fear the fact that she is voicing a pony that looks just like her and that could be her ponysona means that she demanded getting advertised in the movie with that design and with two of her songs that they will squeeze into the movie without any relation to the plot, in exchange for having her big name on board of the movie and bringing it more attention that way…..
That’s the only worry I have about the movie.
