I’m not sure it would be appropriate, I’m thinking it’s more like a “look where this crap you pulled got you” thing. Not something to cause but more of a “Well now you’ve done it”.

I like to think of it in terms of information loss. when someone dies, that’s a precious amount of information that can never be replicated or backed up anywhere, lost forever. memory loss would be also terrible, but perhaps not as extremely as literal death. if you could copy someone’s mind out of their brain before it died, I dare say we wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between that and spacing out for a second.
frankly there are a lot of memories that I wish I could lose. but only because they’re damaged memories, that actually hurt my chances of living longer and learning more.
it’d be pretty poetic for twi’s punishment to be a mind wipe, assuming her crime was doing it to anon. they could be amnesia sisters!
It’s kind of a fascinating thought for a really useful legal punishment, though.
It’s arguably like death but with a second chance.
…
That’s not what I had in mind. Inadvertent appropriate pun.
Where a mind wipe could lead Twi?
Heh, you mean Twi’s mind getting wiped?
That’d be an interesting punishment…
I think you misread what I posted. I said I’m not against the idea in “a few contexts” but maybe I should have posted “in some contexts” and I hadn’t considered some of the contexts you posted. All I saw was Twilight doing it against Anon’s willingness and for selfish reasons despite Anon not enjoying it, I was mainly speaking against the mind wipe ones E.G. kidnap and complete annihilation which may ruin something over in Humanland and cause problems that come over to Equestria, biting Twilight back. Maybe not but maybe so.
The first contexts you posted I can understand and I’m not against those. Twi trolling, though? Nope. As for the “Tired of your crap” idea? I’m on the fence about that. Is there a better way to stop crap? Then comes the next paragraph. Is the mind wipe forgivable? Yes in a “I won’t do it to you” way but in another way if she’d continue it I’m not going to forgive as long as she continues and refuses to change. The same goes for the easier to abuse scenario. The ball’s in her court there and as I posted earlier who knows where such a mind wipe could lead Twi in the end.

what’s wrong with the context where turning into a filly improves anon’s life, makes her feel less alienated in ponyland? or how about the context where twilight turns anon into a filly to hide her identity from the bad guys? the context by which anon turns into a filly as an extremely awkward superpower that she keeps having to use to save the world for some reason, that one’s fun. they’re not all bad scenarios.
heck, the context where twilight is just a huge troll and turns anon into a filly because it’s hilarious to watch her try to be intimidating is fine, too. even when twilight does it because she’s tired of anon’s shit, and then filly anon acts out even more, but there are unexpected cuddle moments that hint at a better life ahead, that’s not a big deal in my book.
even the one where twilight fucks up royally, and can’t stop anon from losing her mind and becoming a good little filly is tragic, but not unforgiveable. about the only context that I really can’t stand is the one where twilight deliberately wipes anon’s memories, and any empathy twilight shows is just a facade to keep anyone from suspecting anything while anon’s mind is eroded away.
or the one where twilight transforms anon to make it easier to abuse her.
I thought we were just discussing the whole age regression/etc transformation which is why I replied. I’m not even against the idea in a few contexts but none of those involve the way Filly Anon came about.
cirrus was saying it would be okay if he was the one chosen. he wasn’t talking about filly anon.
Although it might not be that bad of a life if willingly chosen the difference is F.A. didn’t volunteer it, Fanon Twilight Sparkle forced upon him/her/it. It’s like kidnapping but deeper. I don’t have a job so I’m not going to comment on that, I don’t like being over-stressed and generally live an easygoing lifestyle (I think too lax at times) but I do have things I enjoy doing as I am. The fanon Twilight responsible is nuts for thinking it would be OK to steal another’s identity.

@MamaDerpyHooves
another reason is when we just don’t have any good memories of being a kid, and want another shot at it.
My answer to that is simple. You get to do whatever you like. You may be punished but it’s not as bad.
Reasons you like the idea of being younger? I’m well aware of many of the corners of the internet. This is a “safe” image, though :p
But as long as it stays there - eh, understandable.
Umm. Nothing of course ^^
Just forget I said that.
Now I’m a bit confused… Answer to what?
Well that’s a easy answer. Mothers love and diapers. (Depending on age of course)
Or just people unhappy with the conditions of adulthood. I don’t know how people can be happier with this than that life where you don’t have to work for your life or have big obligations to keep.
Same here.
Man we’re some weird people on the internet. I love it.
Dunno if I’d complain… No work, no responsibility, no loneliness - just be cute, get pulled along to tea parties and cute things and that’s just about it.
