Discord doesn’t count as he’s a living cheat code, Tirek is nothing if he doesn’t take someone else’s power, an Hydra’s main weakness is fire of all things, and Ursas are ridiculously vague so far (as far as we know, they can just be shiny giant furballs). So while there probably ARE a few creatures that can match them, fanfiction aside imo we really haven’t seen any outside of Discord. It really isn’t a stretch to consider them top of the Food Chain, or at least one of the top contenders for the spot.

I found it hilarious how the Dragon Ghosts impliying that they are the top of the food chain. I mean  
Discord, Tirek, Hydras, Ursas and a few other creatures outmatch them really easily or are equal.

Now we might finally see if girls can get more than a bruise or a nick in this comic while guys are shot to death left and right when they don’t literally get their skulls kicked in by the “heroes”. I know that’s an anime trope, but dammit, it sucks in anime series too.

To be fair, the concept of being in a near death state and contacting ancestors or other spirits is not that uncommon. He could be seeing his biological parents here who are disappointed that their son, raised by ponies, is “so weak” and “such a doormat”.

I just hope that with all that shit the Elders are spitting out to him, I hope that it’s just an augmentation of who Spike has been all along, and not an indication that he’s gonna turn into a dick that would have to start hating. It’s one thing to finally stand up for yourself, but it’s another thing entirely to be a hateful jerk.
 
I trust the entire group has the best way to show this, but please don’t just make Spike do a complete 180 and become a asshole and a jerk–in that matter it would make him no better than Nihashi or her crew…
