That totally messes up my collection… Tumblr came to me as a lesser source so I always went for the alternatives, then Inlearned of the 1280 code thingy from tumblr which fucks ot up. Oh well have a long road to make mybcollection complete again in HD
It always depends. You can never - ever - assume one is always going to be better. Sometimes when trying to figure out which of two duplicate uploads are the better one to keep, we’ll even find that an image on DA is a JPEG while the Tumblr image is a PNG, and sometimes the smaller one will actually have fewer artifacts. Sometimes, when you see “Alternative source” in the description, it’s because it’s just a toss up which is the better source.

Turns out I wastaking the picture from the DA account which just so happens to have worse quality than the one from Tumblr. I just assumed all pics were from the DA account of the artist. So this begs the question: which source is better when available? Inkbunny, DA, FA or tumblr?
The source and the image here are both the same dimensions, types, and colorspaces. Is it possible that Tumblr is resizing the image because of your device?
