In Equestria the Megashark not only exists, it eats dragons on a regular basis.
Fun fact: Morays have four extra jawbones in addition to the usual eight most fish have.
All bony fish create suction that pulls water into the gills when their mouths open. That’s how they swallow
and breathe.
However, when the moray opens its mouth, tendons catapult the extra jaws from the base of the throat to the
back of the mouth, ensuring it has wounded its prey.
Leedsichthys is about the same 20 years later; it’s Liopleurodon that’s been downsized. A mere 25 feet long, not the 80 foot monstrosity that haunted our childhoods.

Funny thing about that movie: Both Mega Shark and Giant Octopus are based on real animals that once existed.(Carcharocles megalodon and Tusoteuthis longa, respectively)
I’m beginning to think the land of Dragons is full of unusual creatures.

No worries, it’s been extinct for 160 million years. Couldn’t complete with those new-fangled ‘reptile’ things.
I never go on boats or in the ocean, so that helps (I still research movies and things that take place there though, just to make sure I don’t accidentally deafen everyone around me if something like that appears)

Not if your name is Leedsichthys problematicus. Sixty feet long; twice the length of its infamous nemesis Liopleurodon ferox. It is the biggest fish we’ve ever found… for now.
