The little girls wanting ponies thing predates MLP, I’m pretty sure. Just think, all the horse rides you want, and you’d impress your friends by being the only one with one.

Sometimes when I’m alone I wonder if little girls would still actually want a Pony, if the knew what they smelt like IRL?
