Well, the rules are currently on 7th edition, although most things haven’t changed that much. Only real difference is the vehicles now have hull points, (like wounds), and lose one per glancing or penetrating hit, so no more having a tank stunned for 6 turns. The damage charts also got tweaked. Super heavy vehicles can now be used in normal games (but still cost a fortune in points to field).
Charge rules also changed. You now roll 2d6 to see if you make it. And a unit that gets charged can now ‘overwatch’. Basically a last shot in to the enemy as they charge, hitting on a 6.
Lastly, you can now issue a ‘challenge’ between sergeants and/or characters. Stops any other troops interfering if your opponent accepts. If they decline, that sergeant/character can’t fight at all that turn. Great for knocking out that sergeant with the power fist, or having the epic duel between commanders.
There are other tweaks but I’ll be waffling if I continue.
Struggle keeping up sometimes. I play almost every army in the game, and I’ve been playing since 2nd edition.
Funnily enough, I use that army as an Iron Hands successor chapter. They now have bonuses depending on their origins. Iron hands have ‘feel no pain’(6__), and their vehicles regain a hull point on a 5__ at the end of each turn. Having so many vehicles just made it too easy a choice.
@40kponyguy
Thanks :)
I was actually just looking at that pic. Well painted :D
I have 3 armies, but I played long before I got into mlp, so mine are all done up (The ones I completed) in Warhammer canon colours. I played Space Marines, Iron Hands chapter, Necrons, and Orks. Orks were a lot of fun. I haven’t played since 5th edition rules were in full swing though. I imagine I’m pretty behind by now.
@Scribblepwn3
Thanks. Your own artwork is pretty good too.
My main reason for using the name I did is because I’m the one responsible for this >>906966
Still play 40k nearly every week. Even played a few small games against my daughter, (who’s 6, so that gives me the perfect excuse for watching the show). She’s a bit young to play a decent sized game against yet though. Lacks the concentration.

It’s good to see some encouragement for newer artists. I see you’ve got a pretty good arsenal of uploads yourself. You have some really good work btw. :)
I used to be into Warhammer 40k pretty heavy back a few years ago. Haven’t played in a long time, but I still have all my old models.
@Scribblepwn3
Good to hear. I’ll keep an eye out for that.
Got quite a few things in the pipeline myself too, although I tend to get one picture finished before I move on to another.
I was running out of inspiration a short while ago, but managed to get chatting with a few other new artists here, and that gave me a new batch of ideas.
They were
BlazingDazzlingDusk >>1047237 is her latest one. Noticed her drawings because they looked so similar to my own, and she’s quite the chatterbox on here. (I know she’s a ‘she’ because some of her earliest uploads here were cosplay stuff.
Mrmildock >>1047293 is his latest one. Another fairly talkative member here, but not as prolific with the art.
And Yatetiemeng, who was very nervous about his art. Again, quite talkative here. Only uploaded a handful of pictures, but the improvements between his first >>1024716 and last >>1044794 was noticeable. (Not particularly good, but he shows promise). He said he was taking his leave from here, but he’s been on commenting within the last 12 hours.
I was trying to get a few more artists to join us with this group. Mostly just offering advice, throwing a few ideas about, and commenting.

Actually I do plan to bring most of my line art into colour. Just posting the line art as I go, cause I haven’t got enough time to do the colour yet.
Nice work here. Would like to see a colour version of this some time.
I’ve found that people here tend to like colour versions better.
One of my recent (Equestria Girls Sonata Dusk) doodles proves my point there. >>1041431 monochrome version >>1041429 Colour version, which has a vote score over double what the lineart version scored.
Funny, Octavia’s my favourite pony (mainly because of her design, the colour scheme, and the musical background), but I’ve not really done many drawings of her.
