You have to also realize that some people just don’t give a shit about breasts and just wanna make sure things are tagged properly. No way am I gonna memorize 50+ tag names just so I know which tags to remove on images if they are misapplied. This is much easier to understand and manage.
 
It changes nothing about those names being a thing. You wanna still call her Headlight Sparkle? This doesn’t stop you. Put them all in an image if you so desire.

In addition to what @LightningBolt said, there are also technical reasons concerning the long-term health of our database and the site overall for going with the more logical, straight-forward tags.

Guys big juicy boobs of any particular character were never hard for me to pinpoint whether I knew the pun tag or not. Why are some dudes in woe over this again?

You’d be searching just as much for a specific character, on some images, at least, where there can be several “bust x” tags, for a specific one. Yes, it is searching through fewer tags, but the “where’s waldo” game still exists. It’ll exist no matter the tags.

“We got this far using the pun tags, why change them now?” The older the issue, the harder it is to implement changes, true, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be changed if it needs to be.

It’s hard to not see you guys as just being the fun police with this. You say that these new tags make it easier to use, but I haven’t seen any of that.

My stance:  
If the pun tags had been used as fun/joke tags, for images where the character has extremely large breasts, then they would be their own thing, not that big a deal.
 
But since they’ve been used for any image there the character has breasts that isn’t safe, [and a large number of safe images that shouldn’t have them] They’ve become more than a simple joke/silly tag. They became a standard. “This character has breasts”. So they serve their purpose better in a standard format.
 
Like how many of the “flat chested character” tags have the word “flat” in the front. Or the “cute character” tags all have “betes” at the end. Those tags were standardized naturally by the community. [Not 100% but for the most part.]
 
And other joke and silly tags serve their purpose as joke/silly tags. Like the various artist “x is trying to murder us”, which could honestly be lost all together since it’s for cute pictures under that artist’s tag. But they do no harm, and are just a fun extra.
 
And that’s the key difference: Fun extra.
 
There is not standard format to find a specific character with large breasts other than the “busty x” tags. As just searching “large breasts, character” can give you other characters with large breasts. And the one you’re searching for just standing there all flat, or a pony without crotchboobs, or just referenced but not in the shot.
 
Meanwhile, there’s a standard way you can find cute pictures an artist made. Which is “artist, cute”. But the “x is trying to murder us” is a nice personal touch for fans of the artist. And is placed in addition to the other tags.
 
So mostly, it’s a matter of finding a balance between utility and sillyness.

And I find that that balance is to have the standard tags aliased into the pun tags. It can’t be that hard to make it so that you can put tag aliases into the tagging field to get the proper tag. We already allow implied tags to be added, even if they aren’t added by the person editing the tags.
 
That way, if someone is unsure of the pun, they can always use “busty x” and still have it tagged with the pun.
 
This is the way I think it should’ve been done. It would’ve prevented this whole debacle, and still allowed ease of use.

I think I am. If the standardised tags were aliased into the pun tags, then:
 
People still get to enjoy the pun tags.  
Newcomers, who are still unsure about the tags, can use “busty x” in the tagging field, getting what they desired.  
People who don’t know the pun tags can still search for “busty x” and get the result they wanted, as well as learn the pun tag anyways.
 
And if people really want to see the standardised tags displayed, then they can use an inverse of @Mildgyth ’s tag changer.

No. Multiple of us have explained how that doesn’t solve all the issues, and you seem to refuse to listen and realize that it’s impossible to solve everything that way. It should not be a chore.

What other issues remain unsolved? If it’s people having to figure out which pun tag is for who, then have a tag group with all the puns listed, or have aliases in the tagging field. If it’s people finding the tag is a sea of tags, the pun tags are equally as “hard to find” as any other green tag. Having all the busty tags listed at the front saves basically no time at all, and the pun tags can be found if people were to glance through the tags.

I’m gonna guess you never tag images then, as yet again, keeping them all as puns forces people to have to memorize the puns whether they like to or not, and if someone has no desire to ever use them to search and only wishes to modify the tags of images with them, it is very irritating to deal with half a dozen tags on some images that have several big breasted characters in them.

I don’t see how they’re as hard to find, since they’re all in alphabetical order starting with “busty” whereas before, you had to try and find whichever name someone decided to give to the tag. And not all really included the character names.
 
Yeah you had a case like “applerack” which was rather simple. But then you also have “headlight sparkle” or “ze-bra-buster” or “balloona” Where it isn’t as obvious where to look for that character.
 
And the other options require either changing site code to include the descriptions in the tagging area, or some new group page to describe them all.

I said before: Allow people to enter tag aliases. That way people can put in “busty x” when editing tags, and the end result is that the pun tag is used.
 
And yes, I do edit tags sometimes.

You missed my point entirely, again. That does not solve the tags being displayed in order and that will only help people adding the tags and not removing them, and I only ever remove those tags versus add.

I’d imagine that incorrectly tagging a busty character comes from its implication, “character, breasts”. I’d assume that if this were to be changed to “character, big breasts”, then incorrect tagging would be less likely to happen.

You’re overcomplicating a simple solution simply because you want to keep seeing boob puns. It’s not worth adding a whole new category for just breast tags as not only is that needless extra dev work, it elevates the tags to look like something special, makes it unfair for other similar tags, and would probably make people overuse them more.
