Well the whole “someone with a job who’s bad or incompetent at it” has been a thing in cartoons for a while so this isn’t that different. Plus, it’s cute.

I thought it was sweet, how even if they didn’t get speaking roles, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and Babs Seed showed up.
 
Oh, and I didn’t expect Terramar to get two speaking roles in a row.

The fact that Babs was just another face in the background without any notions towards her while DT got one really irks me.

 
Just goes to show how little of a shit they gave to Babs.

Odd that the show used the 3d versions of the CMC shields from Crusaders of the Lost Mark for the photos Snap Shutter developed, when we have clear shots from the same episode that the actual marks do not have the 3d effect.

That was a really sweet episode. It was so nice to see that DHX didn’t go the obvious route of having Scootaloo’s parents be awful people. As is, it’s very nice to see that the ending of the episode was because they care for her, which is sadly uncommon these days. The other uncommon approach was having Scootaloo not move away at the end, which is the standard ending for this type of episode. It makes sense in context, but I genuinely didn’t expect that outcome.
 
And so many feels! The huge group at the end was awesome, even if I didn’t know who they all were (I skipped many early CMC episodes because their voices annoyed me). Above all, this episode seems to signal a coming of age for the CMC. They approached the issue with maturity, and while their solutions were childish they were also thoughtful. In terms of headcanons, this confirms for me my opinion that they’re about seventh or eighth graders by the American system.

The whole “aunt babysating Scoots” was confusing as hell. So they have this house very far away, babysat Scoots at her parents home and at the end of the episode decide to move to Ponyville ? Thats convoluted, they should have made them live in Ponyville in the first place

While I enjoyed this episode, I’m a little let down that Scootaloo didn’t leave with her parents. I felt like it would’ve made the episode have a lot more impact than just having her stay. I thought the lesson would be about accepting the departure of a close friend, but it was more about the recognition of the CMC’s achievements throughout the show.
 
I guess the writers just wanted to wrap up the CMC’s story on a high note, which I’m okay with.
 
A good episode, nonetheless.

I really like your idea there. It would be a great lesson to kids, also a great set up for the last episode for CMC ^^

I liked Faust’s intended version better: Scoot’s parents were a workaholic couple who really loved their daughter, so they hired a sitter to keep an eye on her, with the running gag of Scootaloo being very good at dodging her poor sitter.  
I think I also remember Faust mentioning another running gag of Scootaloo’s parents always being present on their daugther’s life, but always being just offscreen, like the parents from Peanuts’ stories.

That’s not incompatible with her Aunts being the sitter(s) though.

Except the aunts were introduced at the end of the series without any previous mention or even a hint to explain they always were there, which frankly is a lazy asspull on the same league of the sudden brothers or relatives being introduced out of nowhere.  
Just a brief mention or passing comment about Scootaloo’s aunts (or anyone being responsible of her) during previous seasons would have made a world of difference.

Meh, I never cared for Babs so I’m not that frustrated over her in the background. Also, I think that was just an error in the rendering and animation, I doubt that leaving her cutie mark out in that scene means that they don’t care about her. Besides, she is shown with the mark in another scene.

He’s okay for the most part but I doubt that him appearing again means that DHX “doesn’t care”.

It was a great episode, but I do have an issue with Scootaloo’s parents, in that I think they really played it safe with Scootaloo’s parents. I mean, I guess they didn’t want to portray them as neglectful parents that Scootaloo didn’t really like, as they probably don’t think the show was suited for that, but given they kind of did allude to that in past episodes like Parental Glideance, it just feels like a missed opportunity, and it’s really weird to see Scootaloo completely admire her parents while still making it well known that they haven’t been around for most of her life. I mean it’s clear that they love her, and I get they wanted them to be amazing people but it’s hard to relate. Not to mention, you could still have them be good people that love their daughter and still be bad parents, Ryotaro Dojima from Persona 4 is a good example of this.
 
Yeah, sorry for the minor rant. I just felt like I had to get that off my chest. Grievances aside, it was great and if it really is the last CMC episode, it’s a solid last outing  
Though with Scootaloo staying, it’s entirely possible that she’ll still get a role in a future episode

So I just saw The Last Crusade, and it was good.
 
There’s not a whole lot to analyze. It’s kind of surreal finally getting to see basically anything about Scootaloo’s home life. It’s one of those questions I don’t think they ever planned on answering, so the answer feels tacked on. Most of the episode didn’t leave much of an impression on me, but it was really nice to see everyone The CMC have helped over the years all in one group. It’s one of those episodes where it’s less about the story, and more about the closure.
 
Stray thoughts:
 
I liked the little touch where Aunt Holiday and Snap Shutter both had Australian accents. It added a layer of legitimacy to them being related.
 
I subscribe to the idea that representation is nice as long as you don’t think about it too much. And I thought Aunt Holiday and Aunt Lofty were nice, and had color schemes that went well together. They’re not making any kind of statement; they’re just people with things going on in their lives.
 
Overall, the episode was fine, even if it wasn’t as special as the sum of its parts.
