Which is even MORE at odds with things since Twilight herself was thinking she was mistaken at the point too~

no, that’s stupid.. you are missing a lot of important details that played into that scene and the face of Twilight looking defeated at Shining Armor’s rebuttal, to the point where she just simply drops her entire argument.

if you think they should have trusted her when she didn’t know anymore if she could trust what she thought at that point, I don’t even know how else to explain your bias towards Twilight… it’s really gotten to a point where you dismiss everything else as unimportant to the context of the scene, or all of her friends’ thoughts are inconsequential to everything in your mind, because what seems to matter the most to you is what Twilight thinks.

That is precisely why they should have listened to her. Not listening to her has repeatedly caused incidents if for no other reason that it causes her sanity to slip. In fact I recall her friends even stating that they were at least partially at fault for Lesson Zero because they didn’t take her worries seriously.
Red Anon

While it’s true they should have listened to her in the end, her friends and Princess Celestia may have also remembered the smartypants incident, MMDL and the time traveling loop she wound up making. Given that all this happened within a few weeks or months before the wedding, I think it’s understandable for them.

But maybe if they had known beforehand, they could have severed Chrysalis’ bond with Shining Armor, severely weakening her and allowing for Celestia to score an easy victory.

Well, maybe if Twilight didn’t act like a crazy, homeless hobo yelling about the government putting bugs in her brothers brain, while being jealous and cranky in almost every interaction with the Mane Six, then they might have been more inclined to take her serious.

Also, judging from the episode it was pretty likely Celestia would’ve lost even if she chose to believe Twilight.

The original poster said he doesn’t want to start fights. Yet he acts like a complete duck and posts this. Sounds very hypocritical to me.

I’m not acting like a complete duck (I’m not even sure that’s an appropriate word). I’m just stating my honest opinion. Besides, I don’t call it hypocritical, and I’m not trying to start any fights.

“Make up excuses”? Do you take Celestia for a moron? What would realistically happen had Twilight approached Celestia is that she would investigate things closer, she’d find out that something was off about Cadence, and then she’d have her unmasked way ahead of time.

I certainly do not take Celestia for a moron. All I’m saying is she is no different from anypony else, as is evidenced by the fact that she was easily fooled by Chrysalis’ disguise. Plus, there’s also the fact that Chrysalis could have still turned the tables on Twilight the way she did at the rehearsal. Look, I’m tired of going back and forth on this. If you don’t like what I have to say, then don’t even bother talking to me. Simple as that. Besides, I’ve got better things to do with my life than wasting it on having these kinds of arguments with you. I’m finished. This conversation is over. Good day, sir.

Right, dumb question, of course he does, just like everybody else. Because Celestia is either dumber than a sack of bricks made out of depleted uranium or impossibly omniscient smart.

@BlueEyedPegasus
Well, I guess I’m just supposed to let people shit all over Celestia without raising objections then.

I don’t mean it like that. I just feel so bad for poor Twilight, especially since, like I said, it becomes clear later on that her peers were in the wrong due to reasons that I’ve already explained. I’m done here.
BlueEyedPegasus

@BlueEyedPegasus
Maybe Twilight should have approached Celestia in private and brought up those concerns instead of barging in the middle of the rehersal and calling Chrysence out in front of everybody without any evidence, proof, or credibility, leaving herself wide open for Chrysalis to turn the tables on her and make her look bad.

I meant to say “very convincing excuses”.
