MLP - Sonic Sparkle

Update - Video of me drawing this is uploaded up to 1080p.
Here’s the first time I ever recorded myself drawing something, it’s been sped up by 4x since it was 2 hours long, but if y’all prefer I make it normal speed or 2x or something else basically then tell me.
Well hey, I took a sample of “My Little Pony MLP Remix - DJ Sleepypony - Nightmare Night 2 Hour Mashup Rave Mix” by Youtube User TheMightyScraticus for you guys to listen to in the video, I suggest listening to the whole thing if you like this mix!

Drawing requested by ~DarkMage2:icondarkmage2:
“Can I request a drawing of the mysterious and elusive Sonic Sparkle?
No ponies for this one, just an evening/night sky and optionally some basic landscape. You can see some basic references of the Sonic Sparkle in my last three NATG sketches, but a fresh interpretation would be nice. It’s basically a super sparkly, glowing firework display and star shower crossed with a less prismatic Sonic Rainboom. Or your own interpretation, if you want.
The whole atmosphere of the piece should be one of brilliance and majesticism, perhaps with a tinge of the romantic? Kind of a ridiculous prompt, but I’d love to see what you can come up with.”

Well, I tried my best . . . but I ended up blocking the night sky half-way through with the effects to the point you just know it’s there but that’s it . . . ! I probably should have ‘zoomed out’ from the Sonic Sparkle just a bit more.
I think the best way to make this better is a smaller center of light, not illuminating the majority of the canvas and allowing the sky to balance out the effect, then overall with more spread of waves and sparkles added to improve the dynamics and appearance of depth. The symbol in the center could have probably done well with a glow filter from Fireworks/Photoshop too and probably having the shape a bit more spiked or rounded.
Oh and the implied shape by the light that goes around the center was accidental and probably a bit much (’though very sweet~)
Yea I haven’t gotten much practice in full-on effects yet which is why I couldn’t think of half this stuff as I was doing the drawing or earlier.
. . . Oh well, maybe I’ll just try it again in a few months and see how it turns out then.
