Shinier graphics, more frequent updates, better and more frequent mod support, interchangable parts, more precise controls, used for things other than gaming… yah, your right, it just isn’t worth the extra money.

Suit yourself, but I prefer consoles frankly. Just my preference, same as you have your’s. (Also, computer accessories, printers, wires, spare parts/monitors, and such can clutter up rooms, and take up space too.)

Also actually, some consoles are backwards compatible, so you don’t really need that many consoles hooked up at once. (Some you can even buy/download old games on too.)
Honestly, who even has 4 or 5 consoles hooked up at the same time to one TV? Do you really think most console gamers do that, or can’t just play one at a time?

Yes but with a computer tower, I only physically have one thing in my room, as opposed to 4-5 video game consoles with wires and controllers and games cluttering up my apartment. This isn’t in argument: I physically have no more room for consoles and their games.

“But the fact is there is no console that can keep up with the latest tech, and they quickly become obsolete, a fact that I refuse to put up with anymore.”

Do they have to really keep up? (Frankly, I’ll take having fun games, rather then having the most “powerful computer ever.”)
Also, the same could be said for computers, iPads, cellphones, and such. They quickly become obsolete, as well. You even said so yourself you had to pay hundreds of dollars to fix/upgrade your PC, so that’s really no different/better then having to buy a new video game console, and such.

Also, consoles last 6 years average which isn’t to bad for TV gaming. So it’s not like you have to upgrade them constantly like you do a computer.

Honestly, I see no difference between PCs & consoles in that regard.

@Nightweaver20xx
It’s not exactly viable to try and keep up with PC’s for consoles. If they did, consoles would be nearly a grand and a half and a new one would be out every year. Consoles are meant to be a relatively cheaper option to PC that you don’t have to update every year and fork out nearly 2 grand to make in the first place.

After having to drop 300 bux on replacing the water cooler in my current PC, and 600 on a new (better) GPU, I certainly know PCs are far from perfect. But the fact is there is no console that can keep up with the latest tech, and they quickly become obsolete, a fact that I refuse to put up with anymore.

That’s a good one, and a great way to point out that PC isn’t “perfection” either.

Seriously, I’ve gone through like 15 different computers that broke down for some unexplained reason in my lifetime, yet my old 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System still works to this day.

honestly, i prefer the king of consoles, it had the longest run time, most units sold, and the most games developed, and THAT, my friend, is the PS2

I meant “not all Nintendo games are easy/casual” dispite said that reputation being built-up by the older Wii & DS systems.

Though, honestly, I wish they never coined the terms “casual,” and “hardcore,” as it’s really divided up games/gamers on the subject. You mention the word “casual,” and gamers are all “EW! NO! Not playing it!” dispite the fact, some games they love like “Tetris,” “Pac Man,” “Angry Birds,” and such could be considered a “casual game” nowadays.

The odd thing is, Nintendo intended to recapture the “hardcore” market with the WiiU ironically, but it’s hard to say if that worked, as it’s still a young console. (Though, it’s not exactly “failing” like some claim.)

Also, not all Wii & DS games are “casual,” and those are actually outdated systems as the WiiU & 3DS are the newer ones.
Also, the idea, that Nintendo games are easy, or all “casual” isn’t entirely true. (There’s a reason there’s TVTrope called “Nintendo Hard” as alot of old Nintendo games & such were quite hard.)
Heck, not just old Nintendo games, Super Mario Galaxy 2’s “Grand Master Galaxy” is anything, BUT easy. It makes “Lost Levels” look like a cakewalk. (Especially, when doing the “Perfect Run” bonus mission in it.)

I know this is like a month old, but I just wanted to say something.

I think the reason why you don’t see any of the Nintendo consoles added to the argument is because most people don’t consider the Wii/Wii U and the various DS systems to be competitors. The XBox and Playstation are considered by most to be ‘Hardcore Gaming Systems’ while the Wii and DS are Casual and honestly, that’s how it feels. The Wii is easier for people to get into playing than the XBox or Playstation. It’s something you play with your family than by yourself. Most families I’ve seen have the Wii out in the living room than in a bedroom.

I know, in fact they later also delved into making toys, (some toys were even referenced in their video games, like an entire level in “Super Mario Land 2” was made out of N&B blocks, which looked similar to Lego) and hilariously they even made a line of “romantic” hotel rooms for couples for awhile to.

Some other companies like Namco also did/made other things before becoming game companies to.

Yeah, true, Nintendo was more well-known in the ’80s, because that was when they started bringing products over to America like DK arcade games, and their “Game & Watch” games.

I guess I should’ve been more specific, not many people know Nintendo’s been around that long. (They even made their own Pong-like TV game at one point, which is oddly featured as an assist trophy in the new SSB.)

PS: And I don’t care for PC gaming, ‘cause my computer can’t handle modern-day games, (it’s kinda underpowered) and I don’t like playing video games using a keyboard, and/or mouse. (Should probably get a PC game controller, but there’s so many out there, I don’t know which are universally workable with most PC games.)

Why do gamers always mention those 2 consoles, but not a certain other console made by a company that’s been making video games sense the late-‘70s? (Better yet, don’t answer that, I know I’m just going to get comments like, “lol becuz it suxorz!”)

I don’t have any of the new consoles, but if I were to chose any of them, it’d be that one, sense I prefer Nintendo’s games, it had more games/features I like, it’s cheaper, and such. (As much as I hate to sound like a Nintendo fanboy, it’s just my “preference.”)
Background Pony #5742
I should add that I would love a top of the line gaming pc, but I’m not shelling out $500 for something that’ll be mid-level in 6 months.
Background Pony #5742
PC’s have the best graphics, no doubt. Still not worth the hassle compared to a console.
