Okay. Probably time to explain the shipping tags…
This was taken at a Christmas-themed pony event in Singapore. Now to give some background, Hasbro Singapore is not only aware of the brony community here, but they’re happy to acknowledge it sometimes at official events. Also, they’ve given us discounts and have specifically invited us to their events (even offering to help with our ponycon at one point, but that’s another story).
So this time…after our group got a free meet and greet session, and once again introduced to the public as “bronies”, they got the ponies to do one last photo for everyone there. The lady on stage then asked the ponies to kiss. She explained that this was a rare event and that it definitely does not happen in the show, but however thought they’d do something fun since it was the final show.
And…that’s why the photo is a little blurry: everyone was quickly snapping away. They’ve done some pandering for fans here before, but this was something else. (Poor Spike though. The awkwardness of the situation was also commented on. Fun times.)

Maybe because the host thinks that the ponies are “cute animals”, so kissing would be considered as “just a cute trick” without the lesbian connotation it has in the West XD. I assume it because people tell their pets to kiss them, as if you can teach your pets to kiss or lick you – if you don’t mind their bad hay breath.
your current filter.Edited because: Ponies are basically animals, so they lick almost anything like dogs do.
But the Rainbow Rocks ones aren’t animatronic like these because they hardly show, they even have eye movement.
Poor Spike, though. Awkward indeed.
