That’s a dumb-ass argument. Like cheeze said: the shipping wasn’t implied because they got into CMC shenaingans together.  
It was implied when they started to hang out all cool-like once the CMC were punished. (This was then sorta-followed up in the IDW comic where Cheerilee still seems VERY friendly with Mac when they run into each other.)
 
Also “drugged”? It seems some people try to force rl allegories into every little thing on a cartoon show. No, a love potion is NOT a synonim for date rape drugs, something is manic about how you think if you see it that way. (referring to the one who came up with this)

On the surface that’s what it looks like, but they still seemed to be close friends after the ordeal was over. It’s true that they are probably better off not keeping them together in the long run, but it shouldn’t be implied that the love poison is the only reason they were together.
