There is no outwardly-visible difference to Chryssy’s appearance, apart from a happy grin. And maybe her coat and mane appear a bit glossier

That’s what I used to love about Marvel Comics. Guys who looked like monsters but were good guys.

That I do agree with. If there’s any reason for the changelings to retain their original appearance, it should be to subvert the association between dark colours and malevolence.

On the additional note Thorax didn’t actually turn from bad to good. He’s like good from start. So its more applicable to Changelings other than him.

I don’t mind their new designs but I would have preferred they not change because I hate the idea that someone has to “look like a good guy” to be a good guy. I think it would have been more impactful if peace was made with just normal changelings.
They could have easily used these new designs for some new kind of race of changelings, just like there’s different kinds of ponies. A mature morph of Thorax that just looks like the same kind of black-and-blue/green changeling would have been interesting because it shows that change can come from within just as much as on the outside. Thorax’s current design is so drastically different that it could have honestly just been used for another character. Maybe the leader of another hive?
