I’d also point out that Knights tend to start hating the virtues they initially built their identities around (leadership for Karkat, and heroism for Dave).

So I guess Rarity will start becoming selfish when she finds that generosity isn’t paying off?

Knights of Space are typically portrayed as Jack-of-All-Trades type of persons.
They also have a percieved sense of failure, in Rarity’s case it’s about success.
