Ripped-chard isn’t missing Leg Day. He just has a genetic defect that keeps his legs from getting as swole as his upper body. But make no mistake: He could kick a tank to death with those so-called “pipecleaners”.
How much of that weight is fat vs. muscle? Cardio tends to have the problem of burning muscle mass instead of fat. In fact, it can encourage your body to put away fat. This is why runners often suffer from “skinny-fat” and most top marathon runners you see have bony arms and legs and relatively large bellies. Sprinters, on the other hand, are quite muscular because anaerobic exercise doesn’t have the same problem that cardio does.
Note that this doesn’t apply to walking, only running.
When Luna’s puny nerd muscle mass was ridiculed across the land, she tried hard for muscle that never came fast enough. She turned to the darker powers of dubious supplements and steroids. They worked too well. Before long she was consumed by the thirst for ever more gains, and the inequine muscle beast Mightmare Moon was born.
As a side note, cardio is awesome once you get used to it (but yeah, the first week or two sucks). Unless you’re already really fit, you can eat more AND lose weight!
