Well they’re not solid blue. I’ve seen the white glare in their eyes used as an indication of where they’re looking. Here’s a good example, where you can tell he’s looking to his side.

I think the issue a lot of artists have with changeling eyes is that it’s hard to indicate just where the character is looking with solid blue eyes. But yes, I prefer the no pupil look.
