I’ve never felt more triggered in my entire life…

But then I realized those were taped-on fake wings, as this drawing couldn’t canonically make sense given the vast lore of the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic timeline.
Contrary to what other scholars here will attest, my calming down had nothing to do with eating a bar of Snickers, even though I did eat one after writing the first paragraph of this comment.

I think the most ideal situation would have been Twilight to graduate first, than gradually over time learning more about friendship and subtly being pushed into more leadership tasks by Celestia. Eventually she would ascend into alicornhood anyway and either become Celestia’s successor (like Faust wanted) or co-ruler like what is happening in the show right now. I’ve never disliked the idea of Twilight as an alicorn princess, just the initial execution and explanation they gave us in MMC.
