True. Just because we the readers know something about the setting doesn’t mean all the characters in the story do.
It just came to me, it’s entirely possible that Iron Will doesn’t know the significance of the Crystal Heart. I mean, he doesn’t live in the Crystal Empire and he’s not a pony, it’s likely he doesn’t understand the significance of what he just did.
Not that it excuses his behavior, but it could make him less vile.

If so, then Fluttershy has lousy taste in friends.
And I still think that Iron Will is going to betray the villains and reveal that the only reason he joined them was to help ruin their scheme. I hope so, anyway.
And are ALL Fluttershy’s friends one robed tempter away from making very poor decisions?
Huh? I seriously doubt Hasbro even know who he is.
Because Hasbro itself seems quite persisting in selling Iron Will as a villain, even though in his debut episode Fluttershy was being a bigger villain than him. The villain poster they released back in S2, the one with the ‘Friendship is
MagicChaos’ title, even had him next to the likes of Discord, NMM, Chrysalis, Flim and Flam, etc. and I doubt that was the showrunners’ doing and not directly Hasbro’s.Unless king sombra pulls an epic siege and the villains team up to bring him down and no one else finds out about their crimes then I may consider it good despite the amount of OOC if not then it’s still going to be awful.
Well, if Sombra wins* it might.

He’s only a villain in that he’s likely doing this for $$$. And anyone can become a villain when driven by greed.
Yeah, you’d think that for something so important to all of Equestria that they’d have some guards or something on the Crystal Heart.
IDW, you’d best tread carefully.
