A charity-focused group within the french part of the fandom asked commission to artists with the intent of using it on merchandise that would be sold for… well, charity.
The thing is that apparently they were ultra vague about the fact they wouldn’t pay a cent for the commissions they started, “forgetting” to speak about that fact.
If i remember correctly the president of this “group” was/is also owing money to multiple people anyway (asked for it to attend to a con, he is the one pictured with the “for charity” sign).
This guy (prez) is no longer in this group, shortly after this sketch came out.
Mind, you’d have to be an idiot to give Cuteosphere money in the first place
And Cuteosphere seems to be taking money and not delivering on the product, as far as I can tell.
Why am I not surprised?
To be fair, after Pinkiepony stealing from charity and still declaring herself an activist (active in what exactly?) it’s fair to be suspicious of artists who claim their giving to charity and won’t show proof such as receipts.
But if someone produces good stuff, there’s no harm in funding them so they can continue to do so.
